Ingredients
  • 12 Black Garlic cloves
  • 1 Tomato Bread Loaf
  • 3 Eggs
  • 5 grams of pine nuts
  • 50 grams of Dark Chocolate
  • 200 grams of cream
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 500 ml of Milk
  • Fresh mint leaves
Step by step
  1. We peel the cloves of Black Garlic, respecting the shape of the clove as much as possible.

  2. We grate the dark chocolate or chop it finely.

  3. We cut the bread into thick slices, remove the crusts, and square them.

  4. In a bowl, we crack the eggs and beat them.

  5. Add the sugar, milk, and cream, and mix well.

  6. We add the pieces of bread one by one, soaking them well on both sides, and leave them on a tray to put them in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.

  7. After this time, we take the pieces of bread out of the refrigerator and drain them.

  8. In a non-stick frying pan over medium heat, toast the bread slices on both sides until golden brown. Our French toast is ready!

  9. FINISHED DISH:

Place two French toast slices on a flat plate. Add a teaspoon of chocolate to one corner of the French toast and top with some pine nuts.

  10. We place a fresh mint leaf and two cloves of black garlic on each French toast. And they're ready to enjoy!

The advice of

– Black garlic adds fun and tasty nuances to French toast, as its flavor is reminiscent of coffee, licorice…
– We've chosen to use tomato bread, but you can use regular white bread. Ideally, you should make the French toast with bread that has a good crumb and is a day old, so that the mixture is absorbed better.
– To accompany it, we recommend you try it with a scoop of Vanilla, Mantecado, Turrón ice cream… the contrast is delicious.
– By incorporating the beaten egg into the mixture, we avoid having to fry the French toast, since we only need to sear it well on the griddle, as the egg coagulates inside and prevents it from losing the absorbed mixture.

Don't miss a thing!
